Wyndham City is urging men across Melbourne’s west to take charge of their health, with registrations now open for a free, 10-week wellbeing program designed to support both physical fitness and mental resilience.
The Sons of the West program will run weekly at Eagle Stadium in Werribee from 22 April to 24 June 2026.
Over the 10 weeks, participants will have the chance to develop healthier routines, learn practical skills for everyday life, and connect with other men in the local community.
Delivered in partnership with the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation and Western Leisure Services, the initiative offers a mix of workshops, group exercise sessions, and guest presentations that cover key aspects of men’s health.
Topics include fitness, nutrition, mental wellbeing, family health, and strategies for maintaining balance in a busy lifestyle.
Sessions take place every Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and are designed to be interactive and approachable.
The program welcomes men aged 18 and over who live or work in Melbourne’s western suburbs, regardless of their current fitness level or experience.
Organisers emphasise that the program is about more than just exercise. Participants will take part in group activities that make physical activity enjoyable, while also gaining practical tools and advice to improve overall wellbeing.
The program also provides an opportunity to build lasting friendships and support networks, helping men stay motivated and engaged beyond the 10 weeks.
Funded by Wyndham City Council, Sons of the West is part of a broader effort to provide local men with accessible, practical ways to improve their health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Places in the program are limited, and interested participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.
