Wyndham City Open to Ideas Helping Shape the Annual Plan and Budget.

Latest Posts

The Wyndham City annual budget planning process is now open and residents are encouraged to share their ideas to help the Council set its priorities for 2022-23.

The ideas shared throughout this process will support the Council in implementing its Council Plan and ultimately the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision, which aims to integrate a safe and sustainable community with workplaces, schools and near-home services.

Wyndham City Mayor Cr Peter Maynard said: Community expertise is essential to shaping our draft annual plans and budgets. It’s your City, and you know what works and what needs to improve.”

Residents are encouraged to share their ideas to help achieve the community’s vision, including improving services, programs and infrastructure, as well as ongoing recovery from COVID-19.

The views, ideas and perspectives of Wyndham City residents were an integral part of refreshing the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision and developing the Council Plan, which took place last year as part of the Help Shape Wyndham’s Future project. Now the vision is ready to go and the community can help prepare the draft annual plan and budget for 2022-23 to help bring it to life.

Community members can share images, videos, and text responses through The Loop’s interaction page, related to specific locations in Wyndham. Ideas should be based on community priorities that we have heard about in the past year and are reflected in the Community Vision and Wyndham Council 2040 Plan.

“We are inviting the community to get involved and have their say. If you have a great idea, no matter how big or small, now is the time to share it with us,” Cr Maynard said.

“I am looking forward to meeting residents at community events and to seeing photos, videos and ideas shared via The Loop.”

Wyndham City is hosting a series of events as part of Summer of Fun 2022, and residents are invited to attend specific events in each ward where they can chat with councillors to share their ideas.

Ideas from the community will be collected until midnight on Sunday, February 20. The draft annual plan and budget will then be developed, and a public exhibition of the document is planned for April 2022. Following this, the draft annual plan and budget will be submitted to the Board for approval in June 2022.

Meet your local Councillors and share your draft annual plan and budget ideas at the following events:

  • Friday 4 February – 5 to 7pm – Point Cook Pop Up Park, Murnong St, Point Cook
  • Friday 11 February – 5 to 7pm – Baden Powell Skate Park (Meet Me in Tarneit) 120 Baden Powell Dr, Tarneit –
  • Sunday 13 February – 10am to 12noon – Wedge Street Piazza, Werribee

Share your idea via The Loop from Monday 24 January to Sunday 20 February: theloop.wyndham.vic.gov.au/202223-budget-we-want-hear-you
