Werribee River Association thanked for service

The Wyndham council has acknowledged the Werribee River Association’s (WRA) fortieth anniversary.

City Councilor Robert Szatkowski said the WRA represents four decades of local volunteers working tirelessly to protect one of the city’s greatest natural assets.

The WRA was formed in 1981 by a group of community members concerned about the degradation of the Werribee River.

Over the years, the association has not only taken a practical approach to conserve the Werribee River watershed, but has also advocated with all levels of government while developing and contributing to key strategies that act to preserve the Werribee river.

Cr Szatkowski congratulated the newly elected WRA Board and President, Kathryn Williams, and all past Board members.
